Newham New Deal Partnership
What the organisation needed
Newham New Deal Partnership needed to increase funds from trusts and foundations, so required a charity fundraising film to demonstrate the impact of their work in an emotionally engaging way.

Challenges
a) All filming was planned to take place in a single room. While the space was bright, it was visually simple and offered limited opportunities for creating a varied backdrop on camera.
b) Ensuring that everyone involved felt safe, comfortable and supported, with particular care given to people living with dementia, whether they appeared on camera or not.

Our solutions & approach
a) We proposed capturing additional b-roll from the surrounding community, alongside footage of clients arriving at the session, which the charity welcomed. This helped situate the work within its wider context and created a more varied and engaging visual narrative.
b) Everyone living with dementia who appeared on camera was accompanied by their carer, and interview questions were delivered by a trusted member of the charity’s team. This helped create a familiar, reassuring environment and allowed participants to feel comfortable and supported throughout.

Outcome and impact
A five-minute fundraising video that brings the charity’s work to life, supporting applications to trusts, foundations, and local authorities and helping to maximise funding opportunities.
